We are opening registrations for the Kennedy Center Trip that will take place February 15-18, 2025. Our goal is for every YAO student to participate in the trip and to have the chance to perform on the Kennedy Center stage, tour Washington D.C., take part in the workshop and other exciting activities. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is reserved for students who will participate in YAO during the 2024-2025 Season. Students currently enrolled in YAO do not need to re-audition. YAO, under the direction of Dr. Pyeongkang Park, will be one of just four youth orchestras chosen from across the country for this honor. They have been invited to perform based on their artistic achievements as a youth orchestra ensemble. In addition to their performance, the trip will include tours to Washington’s major attractions, a workshop with the former conductor of the U.S. Air Force Band, a special wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and a visit to hear the National Symphony Orchestra or the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. YAO will travel by bus to the nation’s capital over the holiday weekend, February 15-18, 2025. Deadlines and pay schedule June 1: Registration and $200 down payment June 15: Need-based Scholarship application (https://gcyo.net/financial-aid-information/) July 15: $466.67 payment* August 1: Notice of Scholarships awarded September 1: $466.67 payment December 1: $466.66 final payment January 1: Signed waivers *Note that GCYO makes all payments to the tour company.
